Modifications/Anomalies: I removed the pickguard to give it a late-McCartney look. I also swapped out the truss rod cover with my “real” Hofner; this one reads: “B-Bass, Icon Series”. I keep it strung with 60’s-era flatwound strings, which are hard to find for this short scale bass; La Bella is the only manufacturer I know that still makes them.

Details: Who doesn’t want a Beatle bass? Bradley was a well-known company that copied established guitar and bass models. This is a great little bass, very light and playable. It has a smooth tone. The controls are overly-confusing; I keep it at “Solo”, “Bass On”, “Treble Off”, which seems to give it the best all-around tone. I used it on the tracks for my seventh solo album for a Beatle-type song called “Goodfinger” (working title), and it pops like crazy. Since I got my real Hofner, I now keep this Bradley carefully packed in the nice box that came with my real Hofner.
