Modifications/Anomalies: I replaced the original Fender tuners with Schallers, and the three-way switch with a better one. I also sanded off the original headstock and added a “Fender Broadcaster” logo for fun, since it now resembles the models of that era.

Details: Jeremy was interested in guitars, so we went to Guitar Center and bought this one off the shelf. After a couple of months, he saw an Orange sunburst Strat with a 70’s headstock and fell in love with it, and the Tele went in the closet. It remained there for a few years; Ben had talked about transforming it into something at one point. In the Fall of 2010, I began to take a renewed interest in Teles, so I pulled it out of the closet and tuned it Keith Richard’s style open-tuning and rediscovered the sound (“Brown Sugar”, etc.) I then made the modifications, and use it for open-tuning rock stuff. It’s nice when you can see something old as new again.
