Details: So I went into Southworth Guitars one day looking to buy a Rick 12 string. I needed the sound for a specific track of some sort and nothing but the tone of true Rick 12 would do. I saw this one hanging up on the wall. I’d never seen this finish before and it played like a dream. It was also cheap at $750. Gil was out, but I made the deal with the salesman on duty for their asking price. Sold. Later, when I got home, I got a call from Gil who said it had been mis-marked as $750 instead of $1750. A deal’s a deal, but I promised to make it up to Gil on a later sale, which I did on a sweet 1965 Fender Deluxe amp that I let him have for way less than I could have gotten elsewhere. Square. I’ve never checked the serial number, but I think it was made in 1975. I’ve used this on numerous tracks to get that George Harrison-Roger McGuinn jangle, but it’s a royal bitch to string and keep in tune.
